Quality and Safety Newsletters

The Safe Anaesthesia Network of Ireland (SANI) plays a vital role in enhancing patient safety within anaesthesia practice across the country. By fostering collaboration among consultant and NCHD patient safety leads, SANI focuses on several key objectives:

  • Incident Learning: Sharing insights from both adverse incidents and exemplary practices to promote continuous learning and improvement.
  • Safety Alerts and Updates: Keeping members informed about the latest safety alerts, updates, and guidelines to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Collaboration: Working with external organizations to enhance safety protocols and standards in anaesthesia.
  • Quality Improvement: Facilitating national initiatives aimed at improving the quality of anaesthesia care.
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Encouraging a strong culture of safety within local anaesthetic departments to prioritize patient welfare.
  • Patient Safety Development: Supporting the growth of local patient safety initiatives tailored to specific departmental needs.

Through these efforts, SANI aims to create a safer environment for patients undergoing anaesthesia, ultimately improving outcomes and fostering a culture of safety across healthcare settings.
