The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland and St James’s Hospital announce a Clinical Education Fellowship in Intensive Care and Anaesthesiology
An exciting new 1 year clinical and medical education Fellowship opportunity commencing July 2021
The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland and St James’s Hospital are delighted to offer one Trainee the opportunity to work full-time in this one-year post which offers a unique combination of educational scholarship centred around the anaesthesiology/intensive care department within the largest hospital in the state.
This Fellowship provides the opportunity to work in a clinical department with excellent educational credentials, and to gain skills in the theory, design, delivery and assessment of undergraduate/ postgraduate teaching, as well as the principles and practice of education research. A further aim of this programme is to strengthen interprofessional education activities for the purpose of enhancing healthcare quality and patient care.

Eligibility criteria
The posts are open doctors who have successfully completed their CSCST training in Ireland in July 2020, January 2021 or July 2021. Doctors who have already accepted Fellowship positions for July 2021 are not eligible to apply.
Fellowship applicants must be registered with the Irish Medical Council by time of interview.
On satisfactory completion of the CAI Fellowship year, the trainee will be awarded a CAI Certificate of Fellowship in Clinical Education in Intensive Care and Anaesthesiology.
