The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland is pleased to call for abstracts to be submitted in a new category – ‘Sustainable Healthcare’. Abstracts relating to any aspects of sustainability within healthcare are welcome. BBraun have graciously agreed to sponsor a prize in this category which will be known as ‘The Curlew Prize’.
The Irish curlew population has hugely declined in recent decades and is in danger of disappearing. The college wishes to highlight the plight of this endangered species as a symbol of our rich heritage of biodiversity which human activity – including healthcare – is destroying. This prize will be awarded each year at the annual scientific meeting.
