This is an excellent opportunity to present your insights and share your learning experiences with the wider community.

Submissions are welcome from:

  • Anaesthetists in Training
  • Fellows of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland (in good standing)
  • Joint Faculty of Intensive Care members
  • Members of the Intensive Care Multidisciplinary Team (including Nurses, Physiotherapists, and Pharmacists—Consultants and Non-Consultants)
  • Medical Students and Scientists under supervision in Intensive Care Medicine or Anaesthesiology

Submission Guidelines:

  • Please use the approved ePoster template exclusively.
  • ePosters may cover the following topics:

    The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland is delighted to invite applications for the prestigious Delaney Medal, commemorating the late Dr. Edmund Delaney.

    Awarded by the Council of the College, this distinguished honour recognizes outstanding presentations on topics related to anaesthetic practice. The competition is open to trainees in anaesthesia for work conducted in Ireland.

    This medal represents a unique opportunity for trainees to showcase their expertise, contribute to the advancement of anaesthetic practice, and gain recognition for their dedication and achievements.

    The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland invites all medical students currently enrolled in medical schools across Ireland to participate in our essay competition.

    The topic is:

    The good catch. What a near-miss taught me about patient safety

    We encourage students to approach this subject with independent thought and explore the topic creatively.

    Competition Details:

    • Submissions Now Open
    • Eligibility: Open to all medical students registered in medical schools on the island of Ireland
    • Essay Length: Maximum of 1000 words, with up to 5 references (references are not included in the word count)
    • Presentation: The winner will be invited to present their essay at the National Patient Safety Meeting in November 2025
