The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland, Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine of Ireland and the Intensive Care Society of Ireland are pleased to announce that an ICU4U2 webinar will take place on Saturday 4th September 2021. This meeting is free to attend and will cover the covid-19 pandemic thus far with a forward looking approach to healthcare in the future. The meeting will follow on from the ICU 4 U commemorative charity cycle where teams from around the country will cycle to Dublin to raise money for charities supporting people

  KP Moore Medal Competition 2020   CALL FOR ABSTRACTS   In association with National Patient Safety in Anaesthesia Conference   Friday 13th November 2020   Anaesthetists in training are invited to submit abstracts on a topic related to Patient Safety in Anaesthesia, for consideration as a presentation at the KP Moore Medal Competition 2020. The KP Moore medal will be presented to best trainee presentation at the National Patient Safety in Anaesthesia Conference on Friday 13th November.   The Abstract Submission Guidelines Must not exceed 250 words. Must be typed (double-spaced) on the relevant abstract forms (available from the Education Department or website)

Some ICU doctors/nurses/staff are uncomfortable with being labelled heroic and frontline staff. We are very appreciative of the enormous generosity of the Irish public to us. However now we would like to give back to the patients and families of patients, relatives and others affected by the Covid-19 crisis and turn the focus on them rather than us. Particularly to the elderly, those in nursing homes, those suffering from anxiety/mental illness, Covid-19 ICU survivors and victims of cancer who have had their management interrupted or delayed because of the Covid-19

Government advice is that all non-essential travel and non-essential contact with others is now to be avoided. Considering that announcement and in order to protect the health of the College’s staff and visitors, we will close our building from 5pm today, Wednesday 18th March 2020. The College buildings will remain closed until the Government’s advice changes. All the College’s staff will be working from home until the situation changes. While the building may be closed, the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland emphatically remains open for business and the core focus of our work
