As the training of doctors becomes competency based, the role of the Co- Director of Training at the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland has evolved to reflect advances in healthcare education and training, including simulation in our SAT curriculum , the publication of the Health service executive strategic workforce plan for Anaesthesiology and changes in the regulatory domain from the Medical Council of Ireland. The key responsibilities of the CAI Co- Director for Training is governance of the National Specialist Anaesthesiologist Training Programme . This includes but is not limited to

Dr Donal Ó’Cróinín, Dr Ola Norstrum and other members of the CAI Sustainability Committee have recently published on the Green Anaesthesia League in the BJA. This is a novel survey tool inspired by the Planetary Health Report Card and scores Departments across five distinct categories related to sustainability.
