The Global Anaesthesia Surgery & Obstetric Collaboration (GASOC) International Conference 2023, will be held in Oxford, UK on the 23-24 of September 2023. The conference theme is “Health equity in global surgery”. GASOC is a trainee led interdisciplinary collaborative bringing together trainees and professionals from Anaesthesia, surgery and obstetrics - all the members required to deliver high quality surgical care from all over the world. RAMI Research Awards 2022
The Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland in association with the Irish Journal of Medical Science invites you to submit your published papers to the RAMI Research Awards 2022. The awards ceremony will be held on Monday 25th September 2023, in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Attendance is by invitation only. The awards are open to all those involved in Irish medical research, who have had an original research paper published in an indexed journal between January 1st, 2022 to December 31st, 2022. A consensus statement on training programme outcomes
With the endorsement of our College, the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, the European Board of Anaesthesiology, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the European Journal of Anaesthesiology has this week published a Consensus Statement on the meaning, value, and utility of Training Programme outcomes, with specific reference to anaesthesiology. We are grateful to the contributors from these organisations as well as those from the Medical Council of Ireland, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and the Harvard Hospitals for their work. The
New eLearning Module on HSELand – The 5 Stages of Safe Surgery.
The HSE National Policy and Procedure for Safe Surgery has been updated in 2022. An eLearning module has been developed to support this policy, highlighting the importance of respecting the five stages of safe surgery, including the checklist process. This e-learning module encourages all staff working within the operating department to play their part and ensure that safe surgery guidelines are followed by all team members in order to deliver safe, quality care to patients.
