Face-to-face meetings of the ARS are back!

The Anaesthetic Research Society / British Journal of Anaesthesia has released details for our spring anaesthesia research forum in Manchester on 20 & 21 June. The team have organised a special dinner open to all members and non-members and you are very welcome to attend and make new friendships with people in the field.

You will find an exciting range of talks for these two days. Among these we have two keynote speakers. On Day 1 Professor Kostas Kostarelos will be speaking about “Graphene in Medicine” and on Day 2 Professor Paul Dark will be talking about “Research During Major Incidents”.

The ARS is in partnership with the British Journal of Anaesthesia to deliver the BJA Research Forum. The BJA supports themed symposia at the ARS meeting, consisting of national and internationally recognised speakers and researchers speaking about a themed topic relevant to Anaesthesia and its related specialties.

CPD Match

CPDmatch – helping healthcare

professionals find the education they need

Continuing Professional Development or CPD is not just about revalidation but enables you to deliver the highest quality of care to patients and improve your career prospects. Relevant, accessible, and affordable CPD can however be difficult to find with many staff admitting to missing opportunities or panic-booking prior to appraisal.

CPDmatch is a free-to-use website which helps you find the education you need. You don’t need to register but if you do, the site will automatically email you when new events are listed which match your interests; that’s the ‘match’ in CPDmatch. Don’t worry though, we won’t share your details or spam your inbox and you can turn off notifications anytime and still use the site.

We make it easy to find virtual and local; low-cost and free courses, conferences, webinars, and study days, minimising the financial and environmental impact of receiving education. If you find it hard to attend live events due to other commitments, there are also loads of ‘on-demand’ modules and recordings to be found.

Please visit www.cpdmatch.co.uk, select your subjects and see what’s listed. We also advise you to check out areas such as sustainability, staff wellbeing and financial planning. If you want us to stay in touch then register, tell us what you’re interested in and save your search, as there’s loads to gain and nothing to lose.

Richard Hixson.

Consultant in Critical Care Medicine and Designer of CPDmatch.
